Thinking Of Stopping Smoking Cigarettes?
Smoking is a nasty, harmful, unhealthy habit that millions of people are trapped in with a seemingly inability to stop. Once a person gets past the horrible taste of smoking, they are hooked by the seductiveness and fact that they are addicted.
Being addicted means that they are unable to stop largely because of the nicotine that is contained in the tobacco. Nicotine is considered to be one of the most addictive substances on the planet earth. It is present in only minor quantities in cigarettes, and if it were more all smokers would be immediately dead, it is that powerful.
The routine of habits that a smoker forms while smoking also make it difficult to quit. The after meal smoke, smoking during difficult emotional situations, and smoking just to “relax” are all difficult to just lay aside, as they form a release of a kind to stress.
When I quit smoking I quit “cold turkey” because a doctor scared me into it, and I’m glad today that he did. Most need nicotine patches, nicotine gum, and now e-cigarettes to help them quit. Once a person ceases to smoke, the body begins to repair itself, so the sooner a person stops smoking, the better.
